Mani Deum
Debut release from this Greek Neofolk / Folk Noir / Neo-Cabaret / Experimental act, apparently created as an homage to Current 93. Their sound has gradually changed to incorporate different music styles, playing with folk-rock elements. A dark and gloomy atmosphere, quite heavy and dramatic - at times reminiscent of Sonne Hagal or Svarrogh (who collaborates on a bonus track). Ltd x 500 copies in a luxury digipak.
Glimmer Void
originally formed in Athens in 2004, started working on experimental ideas to create songs that combine ethereal female vocals with dark atmospheric melodies. The process of recording began no sooner than the year 2006 and the result of it was the debut EP “SOULS PARADE” on limited digipack edition, consisting of 5 tracks, and is out thanks to DEAD SCARLET RECORDS(http://www.deadscarletrecords.com). In June 2009, the band took part in the first neo-folk festival in Greece, "Absinthe Festival", where the bands Spiritual Form(IT) and Rome(LUX) took part as well. At the present time, Glimmer void have just finished working on the second (full-length) album "PRELUDE TO OBLIVION" that has clearly neo-folk infuences and will be out in May 2010 by DEAD SCARLET RECORDS.
were originally formed by Apostolis & Valisia in November of 2008. Their sound and lineup has been through several experimentations and changes until March of 2010. Their music is influenced by post-punk and new wave bands, enriched with shoe gaze elements and experimental electronics. Vasilis (guitar) joined the band in June of 2009, Menis (analog synths, drum machines, eletronics) and Andreas (bass) followed in March of 2010. Garden In Black
Theodore Kolsouzoglou’s project GIB was formed in Athens, Greece during 2000 and after several demo CDs and a handful of live dates, Dead Scarlet Records finally release his self-titled debut album. Largely based around driving danceable rhythms and digitised vocals, Kolsouzoglou’s music has a slightly retro analogue feel with synthetic spoken word lyrics about love, fear, loss and pain. Far from being melancholic however, his music ranges from gothicelectro-pop to dark dance, the robotic voice lending an oddly detached emotion to the mood. On the lighter, poppier side of things are the catchy 80’s influenced 25th of September and The Haunted Song. There is also a 12th unlisted track that is based around dubby beats, acoustic guitar and a womans ecstatic groans that are somewhat detached from the theme of the main album and probably why it is included as a bonus track.
